General Requirements:
High school graduate or G.E.D. Three years of related facilities maintenance experience and working knowledge of power tools, hand tools, shop equipment, and building materials. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Responsible for the upkeep of all landscape and department mechanical equipment, to include 2 cycle, 4 cycle, diesel, electric and related equipment.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Services all department maintenance equipment including sharpening mowers and following the manufacturer's preventive maintenance schedules. Repairs all equipment as needed. Repairs and maintains utility vehicle fleet and related equipment. Ensures that all safety devices are functioning according to manufacturer's specifications. Maintains a sufficient inventory of parts and supplies; orders parts and supplies as needed. Keeps work area neat and clean. Maintains service and repair records as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
